The antebellum decade was deliberately a confluence of misery and liberty at the same time. Despite the blacks being free, they did not have the liberty and opportunity to lead the life of their choice. A lot of distinguishing factors contributed to such circumstances. One’s skin color and complexion immensely hampered their social status which was not at all a good thing about humanity. The prejudice always
